A zest for life in the Isle of Skye
Rocky mountains, breathtaking landscapes, dramatic scenery – welcome to the Isle of Skye. Here are just a few reasons to visit:
The Fairy Pools
Explore a series of incredible waterfalls and brave the short fall into crystal clear waters and beautiful blue pools. You will find the Fairy Pools beyond an enchanting 2.5km walk through undisturbed natural landscapes. Whether you’re feeling adventurous enough for a dip or just want some amazing photos, this is a fantastic way to veer off the beaten track, indulge in some ‘me time’, and get back in touch with nature.
The Isle of Skye is home to some of the most beautiful creatures in the UK. From the cliffs you can see majestic sea eagles soaring overhead, on the coast you can find adorable otters, and in the surrounding waters you can even spot some dolphins. The Isle of Skye is also home to whales, seals, atlantic salmon, puffins, and even pine martens.
You can hunt for fossils along much of the UK’s coastline but nowhere else is quite like the Isle of Skye. Reap the rewards of a hard day’s hunting with one of the most fossil-abundant areas in Britain. With jurassic fossils around every corner this is the perfect place to visit with kids (or unleash your inner child).
Yes you read that right. The most famous distillery in Scotland is on this lovely little island and is a fantastic experience. Walk around the exhibits, see behind the scenes in the distilling process, discover how your favourite whisky is made, and of course peruse the gift shop (it wouldn’t be a true ‘experience’ if you didn’t!)
Whether you want to escape your everyday routine, hike up mountains, or just sip on some fantastic whisky, The Isle of Skye has something for everyone. We love everything about this place but our favourite thing to do is simply step outside, breathe in the crisp Scottish air, and remind ourselves of how lucky we are to be surrounded by such beautiful landscapes.
